On the occasion of Vyshyvanka Day, a festive event was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in Kuwait, bringing together members of the Ukrainian community, students of the Ukrainian school under the Embassy, diplomats, and their families. The atmosphere was filled with Ukrainian traditions, warm communication, and support for Ukraine.
The event was opened by Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Kuwait Maksym Subkh. In his remarks, he thanked the Ukrainian community for its active participation in charitable initiatives in support of Ukraine, particularly within the framework of the “Steel Allies” initiative launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, as well as for supporting the M.M. Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery in Kyiv.
Those present paid tribute to the victims of the massive Russian attacks on Kyiv on May 14 by observing a minute of silence.
A special highlight of the event was the lecture “100 Years of Ukrainian Fashion,” which became a fascinating journey through the history of Ukrainian culture, art, and fashion. Guests learned about the evolution of Ukrainian fashion - from the avant-garde movements of the early 20th century to contemporary designers who shape global trends and promote Ukrainian identity around the world.
The lecture was delivered by Olga Filimonova, Master of Fashion Management and Design and graduate of the Italian Guglielmo Marconi University. During the presentation, guests were shown unique slides dedicated to the history of Ukrainian fashion, traditional attire, and the development of Ukrainian clothing design.
The celebration of Vyshyvanka Day in Kuwait once again became a symbol of the unity of the Ukrainian community, respect for national traditions, and a strong bond with the homeland.
