Every year on October 14 Ukraine marks the Day of the Defender of Ukraine.
Today we bow to our warriors for a peaceful sky in our cities and villages.
On this special occasion we offer for your attention the book «Girls cutting their locks». It consists of stories and memories of 25 women in the military who fought in the “Anti-Terrorist Operation” (ATO) as a part of the Armed forces of Ukraine and as a part of volunteer battalions in 2014-2018 as shooters, machine gunners, medics, motor gunners, snipers etc. These are the stories about military operations in Luhansk oblast and Donetsk oblast, Ukrainian towns and villages, their liberation from invaders, remembering comrades, locals, military manners and customs, as well as reflections on being a woman in the army in different times of war. The stories are accompanied by photographs from the war zone.
