As part of the National Accessibility Week (25–31 May), the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Kuwait held a thematic lesson for students of the Ukrainian school at the diplomatic mission.

National Accessibility Week is being held within the framework of the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine through 2030, launched at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

During the lesson, students learned about the importance of building a society of equal opportunities in which every person has access to education, information, digital services, and active participation in community life. Special attention was paid to inclusivity, respect, and modern barrier-free communication.

The students were also introduced to the “Barrier-Free Handbook” – a guide to respectful and appropriate communication that reflects modern standards of barrier-free language, developed at the initiative of Olena Zelenska.

On the occasion of the completion of the academic year, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Kuwait, Maksym Subkh, presented the students with certificates and wished them continued success in their studies, as well as in preserving the Ukrainian language and cultural heritage.

Ambassador of Ukraine also expressed sincere words of gratitude to the teachers of the Ukrainian school – Lyubov Vlasyuk, Kateryna Kapustina, Viktoriya Kravchenko, Kateryna Pikalova, and Tetyana Siraj – as well as to the students’ parents for supporting the school’s activities, organizing classes and workshops, and helping maintain Ukrainian identity far from the homeland.
