On 23 April 2024, Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Kuwait, attended a diwaniya hosted by Mr. Khalid Al-Zouman that focused on world literature. Dr. Balanutsa presented two literary projects implemented by the Embassy to the more than 30 attendees. The first, "In Search of Precious Pearls," is a collection of Kuwaiti short stories translated into Ukrainian. The second is an Arabic memoir of the esteemed Ukrainian football coach, Mr. Valeriy Lobanovskiy, who led the Kuwaiti team from 1994 to 1996. Both books were well-received, sparking lively discussions among the audience. The event also included a presentation of Mr. Nader Al-Watheer’s book "Bilyad ma wara’a nnahr" (Lands Beyond the River), which explores the rich history of Central Asian states.
