On November 26, 2022, the Embassy commemorated the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor tragedy in Ukraine. The solemn event was attended by Ambassadors of Albania, the United Kingdom, Greece, France, Canada, South Korea, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Croatia, accredited to Kuwait, along with the Deputy Head of the U.S. diplomatic mission and the Apostolic Nuncio. Members of the Ukrainian community and Kuwaiti friends of Ukraine also participated in the event.
During the opening speech, Ambassador Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa introduced educational materials on the Holodomor, and unveiled a thematic photo exhibition. Ambassador also presented a documentary about the tragic events of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, directed by Ms. Diana Rudenko.
