On September 15, 2026, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Kuwait Maksym Subkh met with Tarek Al-Shumaimry, Editor-in-Chief of the weekly publication The Times Kuwait. The meeting was also attended by members of the publication’s senior management, Mubarak Aldousari and Abdul Rahman Alhouti, as well as Executive Managing Editor Reaven D’Souza. The meeting was another element of the Embassy’s ongoing engagement with leading Kuwaiti media outlets.

The parties discussed key regional developments and issues on the international agenda. A significant part of the discussion focused on the situation in Ukraine. The Ambassador provided a detailed briefing on Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, including systematic missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian settlements and civilians, as well as critical infrastructure, particularly energy and port facilities.

The discussion also covered the history of Ukrainian-Kuwaiti relations, the further development of bilateral cooperation, and opportunities to deepen engagement with Kuwaiti media. The parties also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in the fields of information and media communications.
