On June 26, in observance of the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag, the Embassy of Ukraine in Kuwait conducted a solemn ceremony to raise the flag of the Crimean Tatar people — an ethnic symbol of resilience and cultural identity. This day commemorates the enduring spirit of the Crimean Tatars and their continuous struggle to preserve their heritage and identity. The reinstatement of the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar flags symbolizes the hoped-for return of freedom and prosperity to Crimea.
Historically, the Crimean Tatar flag has faced numerous bans. Following the temporary occupation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, oppressive Soviet-era practices were reinstated, aimed at erasing the historical memory, unique culture, and language of the Crimean Tatar people.
