On the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day and National Flag Day, a solemn event was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Kuwait. The event was attended by the Embassy staff and their families, members of the Ukrainian community, as well as Kuwaiti citizens – friends of Ukraine.
The event was opened by the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine, Mr. Mykola Dzhydzhora. In his address, he emphasized Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to return abducted Ukrainian children, the release of prisoners of war and political prisoners held by the kremlin, achieve a just peace, and obtain real security guarantees for our country.
Special attention was given to the #AlliesOfSteel initiative, launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the UNITED24 platform, founded by the President of Ukraine. The initiative aims to provide Ukrainian defenders on the front lines with ground robotic systems for evacuating the wounded and demining. Guests were invited to support this life-saving initiative.
Guests also had the opportunity to view an exhibition of Ukrainian flags from the Embassy’s museum, bearing signatures of soldiers from combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteers. A photo zone featured traditional embroidered shirts (vyshyvankas) and other elements of national attire from various regions of Ukraine. Ukrainian dishes were also served.
During the event, video materials about the #AlliesOfSteel initiative and modern Ukraine were presented.
