On April 5, 2022, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Kuwait Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa met with the acting General Secretary of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature of Kuwait, Dr. I. Al-Ansari, to discuss the ongoing situation in Ukraine amid severe military aggression by russia.

During the meeting, the parties explored the possibility of terminating cultural and artistic collaborations with the aggressor country. Dr. I. Al-Ansari reaffirmed the Kuwaiti government's explicit support for Ukraine.
