15 February 2026 13:15

On 12 February 2026, the photo exhibition “Brave to Be Strong” was opened in the State of Kuwait with the participation of its author, Eduard Kryzhanivskyi, the official photographer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Kuwait became the first Arab country to host the exhibition.

The event, dedicated to the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, was jointly organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Kuwait and the Delegation of the European Union under the title “Brave to Be Strong: Voices of Resilience” and also featured posters created by Ukrainian artists during the ongoing Russian aggression.

The exhibition presented unique images by Eduard Kryzhanivskyi from the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion to the present day, revealing the true face of war: pain and loss, courage and resilience, and the strength of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians.

The artistic event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, foreign diplomats, representatives of international organizations, charitable foundations, and leading media outlets to pay tribute to the courage of Ukrainians and to witness how war changes the lives of ordinary people.

In his remarks, Ambassador of Ukraine Maksym Subkh noted that the joint exhibition “Brave to Be Strong: Voices of Resilience” had become an important symbolic act of remembrance and solidarity on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the Russian Federation’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. He emphasized that Russian aggression has caused a large-scale humanitarian crisis and extensive destruction of civilian infrastructure, particularly energy facilities, which is especially critical during the winter period. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of maintaining and strengthening international support for Ukraine, including humanitarian assistance, restoration of the energy sector, and coordination of international efforts.

In her remarks, Ambassador of the European Union to Kuwait Anne Koistinen emphasized the importance of the exhibition as a reminder to the world of the immeasurable cost of the war for Ukrainians and reaffirmed that the EU’s support for Ukraine remains unwavering and comprehensive.

Participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of Russian aggression.

During the event, musical works by Ukrainian composers Mykola Lysenko, Yurii Shchurovskyi and others were performed.

On 13 February, the exhibition was also presented at the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Kuwait and was visited by representatives of the Ukrainian community, Kuwaiti citizens, the Ambassador of Poland to Kuwait Michał Cholewa, foreign diplomats and other guests.

The cultural event became an important symbol of international solidarity with Ukraine, strengthening support for peace and stability and contributing to a deeper understanding of the humanitarian consequences of the war. The photo exhibition served as a powerful manifestation of memory, resilience, and solidarity, revealing the human dimension of war and the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people.

Leading Kuwaiti media provided broad coverage of the event.
