Dear Citizens,
In accordance with a Government of Kuwait decision, a full curfew will be imposed nationwide from 16:00 on May 10 until May 30, 2020.
During the curfew, residents may leave their homes for walking within their residential areas between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., provided social distancing guidelines are observed. Any departure from residences outside these hours or vehicular movement around the country will require a special permit. For medical emergencies, exit permits can be obtained online at http://curfew.paci.gov.kw.
Under these new restrictions, all private sector enterprises, except those deemed critical, will be closed. State institutions will operate entirely remotely. Grocery stores will remain open; however, visits must be scheduled online once a week. Appointments can be made via http://coops.moci.shop. Home delivery of groceries and medications will continue to be available.
The wearing of protective masks in all public places, including grocery stores, is now mandatory.
We urge everyone to comply with all imposed measures, follow the guidance of local authorities, and rely solely on official sources for information.
In response to the curfew, the Embassy will continue to operate remotely until May 30, 2020. During this period, consular consultations will be available exclusively via email. Please direct all inquiries to the Embassy's email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected].
For emergencies requiring immediate consular assistance, please contact the Embassy's hotline at +965 99844503.
We will keep you updated on any changes to the Embassy's operating schedule.
Stay safe and healthy.
