On October 5, 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Kuwait Maksym Subkh presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, Abdullah Al-Yahya. During the meeting, Ambassador Subkh provided a detailed briefing on the consequences of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, including the continued shelling of Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure, particularly its gas transportation and energy systems.
Ambassador Maksym Subh highlighted Kuwait’s principled stance within the United Nations and other international organizations and expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s steadfast support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The discussions also covered the current state and prospects of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Ukraine and Kuwait.
The Ambassador reaffirmed the invitation for the Kuwaiti side to participate in the International Summit on Food Security, scheduled for November 19, 2025, in Kyiv, as well as in the humanitarian initiative “Grain from Ukraine,” launched by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Additionally, the Ambassador also highlighted the expansion of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, particularly in fields of education, science, and cultural exchange, and invited Kuwait to participate in key humanitarian projects organized by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
Ambassador Maksym Subkh congratulated Kuwait on its successful presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and underlined the significance of adopting of the Joint Action Plan on Strategic Dialogue between Ukraine and the GCC for 2025–2030, which took place in New York in September on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. This development is especially symbolic considering Kuwait’s current GCC presidency.
In response, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister wished Ambassador Maksym Subkh success in his mission and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with Ukraine in all areas of mutual interest.
