On 24 October, the first meeting of the newly appointed Ambassador Maksym Subkh with the Ukrainian community in Kuwait took place at the Embassy of Ukraine.

The Ambassador spoke about the current situation in Ukraine and the steps Ukraine is taking on its path to establishing a just, lasting and comprehensive peace. He specifically highlighted the humanitarian initiative of Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha “ Allies of Steel”, launched in cooperation with the UNITED24 platform, which helps provide Ukrainian defenders with robotic systems for evacuation and demining.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the members of the Ukrainian community in Kuwait and their families for their support and humanitarian assistance to compatriots affected by Russia’s armed aggression, and also invited them to join the “ Allies of Steel ” initiative.

Particular interest was raised by information about new digital consular services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy’s educational and cultural initiatives, and humanitarian projects of the Foundation of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, including such initiatives as the Ukrainian bookshelves and Ukrainian audio guides for local museums.

Practical steps to restore the operation of the Sunday Ukrainian School at the Embassy were discussed separately, with the goal of creating proper conditions for children temporarily residing in Kuwait to study the Ukrainian language.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and all participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their ideas and suggestions regarding future formats of interaction and cooperation between the Ukrainian community and the Embassy of Ukraine in Kuwait.
