On August 25, 2016 the Minister of Defence of Ukraine the Army General Stepan Poltorak met with the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the State of Kuwait Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Khader.

During the meeting the parties discussed promising directions of Ukrainian-Kuwaiti cooperation in defence sphere.

The Minister of Defence of Ukraine noted that Ukraine and the State of Kuwait had established friendly relations, especially in the sphere of military-technical cooperation. He also informed about the situation in Donbass region.

In his turn, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the State of Kuwait Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Khader conveyed greetings from the Minister of Defence of Kuwait and himself on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence.

He expressed solidarity with Ukrainian people and said that he was impressed by the level of organization and holding military parade and expressed condolences for the losses beard by Ukraine during the antiterrorist operations in the East of the country.

The parties agreed to enhance cooperation between the defence authorities of both countries, especially in military-technical sphere, to exchange experiences and to consider the possibility of participation in joint military exercises.
