On August 4, 2016 the ceremony of signing of the Agreement on Cooperation between Ukraine’s National News Agency “Ukrinform” and Kuwait News Agency “KUNA” took place in Kyiv. The agreement creates the platform for spreading information about Ukraine in Arabian Peninsula, as well as favorable conditions for the exchange of information between both agencies.
The signing ceremony was attended by the chiefs of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the representatives of “Ukrinform” and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
During the conversation both parties emphasized on the importance of initiating cooperation between "Ukrinform" and "KUNA" in the information sphere, which will contribute to the rapprochement between the two countries. The attention of Kuwaiti delegation was drawn to the persecutions of Crimean Tatars in the occupied territories Crimean peninsula. The Ukrainian side expressed its hope for the full support and protection of Muslims of Crimea from Kuwaiti side.
The possible ways and forms of cooperation between two countries in the information sector, particularly in the field of TV, were also discussed.
